This is a great looking rod. The finish is beautiful, especially the handle design. I tried standard front weighted line, heavy head outbound short line, intermediate sinking line and double taper line. This rod casts them all very well. It's a fast rod so you get pretty good distance with minimal false casts with pretty good accuracy too. Took the rod on a tarpon charter to test it handling big fish. When I hooked the first tarpon, the guide said,"look at that rod bend, it's going to break!". To which I replied, "don't worry, it's a Maxcatch these are tough rods". The rod got the job done and I landed the 10 pound baby tarpon in a couple minutes. A week later decided to chase young adult tarpon over 20 pounds. Hooked a 3 feet long and about 30 pounds tarpon which took about 10 minutes to land after 3 good runs. Once again, no match for this powerful rod. I'm pretty happy with my 6wt advance rod. It's my go to rod when targeting big fish. There's only one thing I don't like. The handle becomes slippery when wet or when your hands are slimy from handling fish. It's mandatory to rinse and dry your hands before casting again. This is not the case with cork handles.

I've been very impressed by how well this rod casts. It's powerful, accurate, and light weight. Well worth the money. Love the handle design!
